Adjectives and Adverbs are both used in English to make the sentence a meaningful one.

Adjectives

An Adjectives are used to represent both the nouns and pronouns. In short, an Adjective comes before a noun or other linking verb.

Before the noun:

  • He cut the spicy pizza.
  • I have a red top.
  • The little boy went down the street.
  • What a wonderful view!

Adverbs

An Adverb is a term used to show adjectives, verbs and adjectives. They are usually (but not constantly) created by combining 'ly to the adjective.

Some examples are:

  • I walked fast ('fast' tells us about the verb 'walk').
  • They worked speedily.

Generally, the comparative and superlative forms of Adverbs are used by using 'more / most'.

  • She sang loudly.
  • She sang more loudly than her friend.
  • She sang most loudly in the class.
